About The Artist

Lucy Viechweg is a New Zealand-based artist who grew up in the heart of the UK countryside. Her love for art blossomed in childhood, with her work regularly showcased throughout her school years; her passion was shared and nurtured by her artist grandparents, her grandmother a watercolorist, her grandfather an oil painter.

Before fully embracing art, Lucy owned a successful eco-friendly hairdressing business. This experience sharpened her eye for beauty and design, while her core passion for living kindly for our planet now flows directly into her canvases. Each painting is a heartfelt tribute to nature’s raw beauty, infused with the human emotions we all experience.

It was in her mid-30s, following the birth of her second daughter, that Lucy answered her true calling. Creating became a part of her own personal journey to find healing and escape.

As a professional artist, she now brings her unique visions to life. Her dedication to wildlife art has earned features in Art to Hearts Project's "Animal Edition" magazine, and she's currently preparing for an exciting solo exhibition at Gallery Unbound in Melbourne, Australia.

Today, Lucy's mission is to craft heartwarming art that evokes connection, offering a tranquil escape and infusing homes with the restorative energy and wonder of the natural world.

My Statement

My heart has always been deeply rooted in living kindly for our planet, and this same love is why I paint the wild today.

I create art for you to get lost in, a true escape from the everyday. Inspired by the untamed wild and its elemental forces, my paintings aim to bring the outside world right into your home, infusing your space with that sense of connection and healing energy that only nature truly provides.

My work invites you in to feel the peace of rain, the gentle strength of the wind, and the charm of the Earth's creatures.

I achieve this with harmonizing color palettes and expressive brushwork to evoke a distinct mood. Through using oils, I create contemporary art with traditional methods I'm deeply drawn to. By mixing abstraction with a touch of realism, my paintings offer a delicate balance of reality with a touch of drama, inviting you into a surreal, otherworldly experience.

I want each piece to be a peaceful haven, a window to a moment of quiet wonder where you can reconnect with your own spirit.
